Dr. Olesia Shalayska specializes in a diverse client population ranging in ages from younger adults to the aging geriatric population.
Dr. Olesia Shalayska is a licensed clinical psychologist, a certified dementia practitioner specializing in a diverse client population ranging in ages from 13+.
Dr. Olesia Shalayska earned her M.A. and Doctoral degree at Illinois School of Professional Psychology. As a clinical psychologist, and certified dementia practitioner, she has worked with a diverse clinical population ranging in ages from 13 to 100+ years old. However, her specific interest and strengths are in adult and geriatric clients that struggle with comorbid mood disorders and medical conditions. Her clinical work focuses on working with individuals who have mood disorder, depression, trauma, comorbid substance abuse, difficulties with life transitions, grief/loss, and others.
Dr. Shalayska works primarily from a Dialectic Behavioral and Cognitive Behavioral framework, incorporating other approaches when needed to help the client achieve their goals. From the first session she develops a strong therapeutic alliance with the client to help empower their journey to emotional wellbeing.” Dr. Shalayska is much more than “Just Talk Therapy”.
